Dollar Store Easter Bunny Wreath

The other day I saw an adorable wreath on The Party Wagon’s Instagram feed (hers is with REAL flowers and good smells and a gorgeous banner! Go check it out!). And I loved it! I thought, I bet I could make my own version from Dollar Tree craft supplies.  And sure enough, I was able to come up with a super cute version for UNDER $10!!!

First, I purchased the supplies from my local Dollar Tree:

1 – small grapevine wreath (about 8″-10″)

1 – medium grapevine wreath (about 12-14″)

5 – bounced of white hydrangea flowers (or pick another full white flower of your choice, justske sure you have enough flowers to go all the way around your wreath circles with full coverage).

1 – pink carnation bunch

1 – bunch of tiny pink flowers
I also used craft wire so if you don’t have this on hand, you will also need to purchase this (which will add to your overall total).

You will also need a pair of scissors and some wire snips.

First wire the two wreaths together – smaller one on top:

I then secured this with a little hot glue as well:

Next form two wire bunny ears about 6 inches tall and twist at bottom – leaving wire after the twist in order to secure to the wreath:

Then secure each bunny eat to the back of the top wreath – one toward each side. I pushed the wires through and around some of the grapevine stems.

Next start hot gluing the white bunches of flowers around each of the wreaths, keeping them close do the wreath appears fuller.

Once you have glued white flowers around each wreath, then take one pink carnation and glue it right in the center of the bottom loop of the bottom wreath – giving the bunny it’s bunny tail.

Next, hot glue the tiny punk flowers all around each of the bunny ears – giving them pink lined ears.

Finally, the small pink flowers had some wispy picks on the ends and I glue two on each side (towards the back side of the middle of the top wreath) to act as whiskers.

And now you have one cute bunny wreath for under $10!!!

Good Friday Everyone on this GOOD FRIDAY!

Easter means so many things to so many people.  To me, it means when I was given the greatest gift that I have ever been given….life.

On that day so long ago Jesus Christ gave up his life so that I may live.  And not just live, but live eternally with God, my father and my friend.  It was a few Easters ago when something my Pastor said really resonated with me.  The worst suffering Jesus took on wasn’t the physical pain he was bearing (though that was enough in itself), but the agonizing affect that separation from God took on him.  Most of us have never had to feel complete and separation from God. For some reason, that hit home to me.  That was the true death and suffering… Jesus not having God.  God turning his back on him.  Even in the worst of my times and when I think God is not there, He really is.  I have never truly felt complete separation.  Honestly, I am really glad I haven’t.  It was enough to finish Jesus off – it was the completion of His ultimate suffering.  So today, I give utmost thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for saving me from an eternity of separation from not only my Creator, but for also being the one who buffers my soul – my healer, my deliverer, my friend.

I know that this is not a usual post for me.  But it is reflective of all that I do and create.  Jesus Christ is the real reason for celebration.  This holiday – ABOVE ALL HOLIDAYS AND CELEBRATIONS – is the real and true reason for celebration.  We are saved.

Ephesians 2:1-10

“Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[a] He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Today I have a gift for you as well – this lovely printable below.  It is nothing compared to the true gift we have been given on Easter.  But I hope that it brings a little sunshine and just the tiniest glimpse of happiness to you today!!

Happy Easter Everyone!!
